Prevention is Better than Cure

Iā€™m working hard on Cyber Whispers - a fake news ghost story with the intention of publishing it in July 2023. The video attached points out the importance of making people aware of the mechanics of disinformation, so they can spot fake news easier, are more enabled to sort fact from fiction, and are less likely to share fake news with their friends and followers. Here is an instructive disinformation game developed by the Cambridge group mentioned in the video. Reading Cyber Whispers, using a rtiveting adventure story, will be another useful way to make people more discerning about the media/information they are exposed to. The main characters get caught up in a disinformation plot, where they themselves become fake news. Readers will gain insight into all the subtle steps necessary for viral news to spread like wildfire, and experience the social implications of this at a very personal level.
